I describe myself as a “sound guy” because of the wordplay and because it means I do not have to convey a specialisation within the medium. I shuffle between being a technician in the arts and media, and being (trying to be) an artist.
I work as a location sound recordist for video production, a podcast producer, and occasionally do post-production and composition for film, documentary and commercial video.
I founded an ensemble called Banana Apparatus in 2013 with whom I record, improvise and perform noise-music occasionally. I also organise Kitchen Counter Sessions, a series of private event nights where musicians are given improvisational challenges (such as sampling, and live-scoring film clips.)
I am engaged in research around media piracy, audio technology and radio, hoping to make projects around these topics eventually.
